Before you travel
An airport listing shows a firm’s presence. It does not confirm a car for your dates. Ask the branch about stock, opening times, and the return point.
Car rental at Suvarnabhumi is one way to leave the airport. Check the desk and pickup point, then read the hire terms before you choose a car.

Suvarnabhumi gives a clear official example of airport car rental. AOT's current guide lists "Self-Drive Car Rental" as its own service. It lists taxi, Grab, AOT Limousine, buses, vans, coaches, shuttles, and rail as other choices.
This shows both the name and the role. In self-drive rental, the car is handed to the renter or another approved driver. That person drives it under a rental contract. AOT Limousine is different. The operator supplies a chauffeur, so the customer rides as a passenger.
AOT also has current pages for several rental firms at the airport. These pages prove that self-drive rental is an established airport service. Some firms also offer a car with a driver. The firm name alone does not tell which service is being used.
Vehicle classes can include small cars, sedans, SUVs, vans, people carriers, and pickups. Some firms also offer premium or electric cars. Exact stock can change.
The general Thai rental rules still apply. OCPB's contract rule covers consumer car rental. TAT says the driver needs a credential that is valid for use in Thailand. TAT also says renters should check roadworthiness, registration, and insurance.
Insurance keeps the same structure. The car sits inside the compulsory motor-cover system. The owner may also hold wider voluntary cover. The rental contract may add a damage waiver, excess, approved-driver rules, and deposit terms.
The airport changes the handover place, not the basic rental deal. The stable subject is the role of self-drive rental inside the airport's wider transport system. It is also the clear split between a rented car and a chauffeur ride.
