Wat Yansangwararam

Wat Yansangwararam is a large royal temple and meditation complex south of Pattaya. Its buildings, gardens and mountain setting give the coastal region a quieter religious and architectural counterpoint.

A modern royal complex

The temple's guidebook records royal ceremonies and describes buildings designed for Buddhist practice and teaching. This is a modern complex with a broad institutional role, not an ancient ruin that can be reduced to one shrine.

Architecture in a mountain landscape

The main chapel was built as a merit-making tribute to King Taksin and modelled on Wat Bowonniwet's Vihara Rangsi. Its position facing the sea with mountains behind also shapes the site's layout. Check current access across the large grounds and respect any meditation or ceremonial areas.
