A provincial Buddhist centre
The Provincial Office of Buddhism identifies the temple as a third-class royal monastery and Krabi's provincial temple. It has served as a centre for Buddhist study and religious activity in the province since 1912.
Wat Kaew Korawaram is Krabi's provincial temple in the centre of town. Its large white ubosot rises above a naga-lined stairway, making this a useful cultural stop away from the beaches.

The present religious architecture is modern, with a white ordination hall on raised ground, three stair sections and naga decoration. Inside, murals depict episodes from Buddhist tradition. Dress for an active temple and check local arrangements before visiting.
