Songkhla Central Mosque

Songkhla Central Mosque, formally Masjid Klang Diyunul Islam, is the province's major mosque in Khlong Hae, Hat Yai. Its golden dome, four minarets and long reflecting pool make it one of southern Thailand's most recognisable Islamic landmarks.

A provincial religious and civic centre

The Islamic Committee's project history describes the mosque as more than a prayer hall: it was planned alongside offices, meeting facilities, learning space and public Islamic services. The project began in the early 1990s, received an initial government construction allocation in 2001 and was completed in 2005.

Visit a working mosque respectfully

The mosque's architecture combines a large dome, tall minarets and geometric decoration with open grounds and water. It remains an active centre for Muslim worship, so visitors should confirm access before entering, dress modestly, avoid prayer periods when asked and never treat worshippers or religious activity as a photo display. The Thailand Halal Information Center lists the mosque on Lopburi Ramesuan Road and records daily public hours, but check locally for changes.
