# enjoythai.land Temple / Religious-site Static Policy

Access date for source pass: 2026-05-15

## Scope

This package covers **temple and religious-heritage sites that are materially useful for traveler decisions** across the 31 requested city/town nodes.

It is not a claim to enumerate every legally registered wat, shrine, mosque, church, meditation center, or monastery in each province. Thailand has too many local temples for that to be useful in a static destination layer.

## Static-safe fields

Safe to store statically after source validation:

- name / Thai name
- site type
- city/province/area
- route role
- base-area relationship
- stable historical framing when backed by TAT, Fine Arts Department, UNESCO, temple-owned source, or other official/public source
- long-run etiquette caveats
- whether a site is anchor / secondary / support / specialized

## Do not store statically

Do not hardcode:

- opening hours
- ticket prices
- ceremony access
- dress-code exceptions
- active construction/restoration status
- review rating or review count
- crowd level
- exact current traffic
- daily weather/AQI
- whether photography is allowed in every hall on the visit date

These should become live observations/signals.

## Review source handling

For temples, review counts are useful as **popularity/crowd proxy only**, not as quality truth.

Recommended treatment:

- store qualitative `popular_or_niche`
- create future live catalog signal for Google/Tripadvisor/Wongnai review count bands
- never treat rating as authoritative cultural value
- never scrape or quote user reviews into static copy without rights/consent

## Repo fit

Recommended output mapping:

- `data/entity-seeds.json`: one entity per high-priority site
- `observationCoverage[]`: TMD, Air4Thai, official site/TAT/Fine Arts/UNESCO, event calendar, maps/catalog review signal
- `signals[]`: heat exposure, AQI, rain, ceremony/event crowd, road/ferry friction where relevant
- `relatedPages[]`: destination page, stay guide, food route, ferry check, rail/route check
