How to File a Noise Complaint in Thailand.

Who handles a noise complaint depends on the place and source. A loud bar, building site, factory or airport may need a different contact. Check the official channel for that issue. A complaint may not be shown in public records.

At a glance

Check where, when and how the sound was measured. A station reading, complaint and model each provide different evidence. Road, aircraft and workplace noise can also use different measures. Use the linked references to understand the record before applying it to a room or street.

File the complaint

  1. Identify the source and location. Note the type of noise, when it occurs, the address, and a nearby landmark.
  2. Choose the responsible channel. The Pollution Control Department directs local nuisance complaints to the municipality, district office in Bangkok, or other authority responsible for the source. Its complaint system explains the routes.
  3. Give usable details. The PCD form asks what happened, what action you want, which agencies you already contacted, the source location, landmarks, and supporting files.
  4. Keep the submission details. Check the information before sending it and retain any reference or confirmation for follow-up.
