June starts to reward travelers who stop fearing every rain icon. Cities, food routes, green landscapes, and waterfall plans can work when you keep buffers.

June conditions
June is early in the rainy season for most of Thailand. The landscape is turning from dry-season brown to green, and rainfall is still building toward the wetter months ahead in much of the upper country.
TAT's June material focuses on waterfalls, forests and green scenery, a fair way to think about the month. Northern and western nature spots come alive, but a nature-heavy trip now depends more on rainfall, river levels and trail conditions. Bangkok and the big cultural cities don't have that problem, so they stay reliable anchors for a trip.
The north has one advantage over March and April: the worst dry-season smoke usually clears as the rains arrive. That's not a promise of perfectly clean air on 1 June, but the shift toward the monsoon changes the northern air as well as the scenery.
Regional differences
The Andaman coast becomes less reliable for a boat-based beach trip once the southwest monsoon sets in. Phuket and Krabi still have plenty going on, but sea conditions matter more. The Gulf side is the opposite: Samui, Phangan and Tao can still have a decent window while the west coast gets rougher.
In short: the southwest monsoon is usually established by June. Upper Thailand is greener and wetter. Northern haze usually eases as the rains build. Andaman sea conditions get more changeable, while the Gulf islands are on a different schedule.
