What Report Check establishes
A matching result helps confirm that GIA recognizes the report number and its recorded details. Check more than the number: compare report type, dates, measurements and grading information with the supplied report.
Use GIA Report Check when you already have a report number. Enter the number on GIA's official service, then compare the returned grading details with the document and the item being presented.

A valid report result does not by itself prove that the physical stone in front of you is the stone described. Identification, inscription checks and seller documentation remain separate tasks.
GIA also describes API-oriented report-result services for approved uses. Do not treat the public checker as a bulk-harvesting endpoint or claim that every laboratory record is available for unrestricted download.
