Phuket Bus Terminal.

Phuket has two bus terminals. Check the number and name on your ticket before arranging a pickup or choosing a route to your beach base.

Station master fields

A bus arrival in Phuket does not mean an arrival at your hotel. Check the terminal and the next road leg, especially if you are heading to a beach.

The station

“Phuket Bus Terminal” does not identify one exact station. OTP's Phuket public-transport master plan says Phuket has two passenger bus terminals.

Phuket Bus Terminal 1 is สถานีขนส่งผู้โดยสารจังหวัดภูเก็ตแห่งที่ 1. OTP places it on Phang Nga Road, Soi 3. Phuket City Municipality also publishes procurement material under that exact Terminal 1 name.

Phuket Bus Terminal 2 is สถานีขนส่งผู้โดยสารจังหวัดภูเก็ต แห่งที่ 2. OTP places it on Thepkrasattri Road in Ratsada subdistrict. Public local-government material says Terminal 2 is under Ratsada Subdistrict Municipality and lies in Moo 2, Ratsada. Thepkrasattri Road is part of Highway 402, the main north-south road corridor through this part of Phuket.

Routes and the surrounding city

OTP says both terminals support public bus activity within Phuket and between provinces. It also describes both scheduled and non-scheduled public transport classes, including buses and vans. The two sites should so not be merged into one location merely because both have “Phuket Bus Terminal” in English.

Terminal 1 is the older central-town site on Phang Nga Road. Terminal 2 sits farther north on the Thepkrasattri/Highway 402 corridor in Ratsada. OTP's route-planning material places Terminal 2 on city public-transport corridors that continue toward Phuket Town. Local government has described Terminal 2 as a tourism gateway. These facts support a clear city role without copying any proposed or current timetable.

The wider transport setting includes Phuket International Airport to the north and Phuket Town to the south. OTP's master plan treats the airport and both bus terminals as major transport activity points in the province.
