Chiang Mai Bus Terminal.

Chiang Mai has more than one bus terminal. Check the terminal number as well as the city name when you plan a bus trip or pickup.

Station master fields

Match the ticket to the exact station. Do not assume that every long-distance bus uses the same building or that Arcade means one terminal.

The station

There is no safe way to treat “Chiang Mai Bus Terminal” as one exact terminal. OTP's Chiang Mai public-transport master plan identifies three passenger terminals in Chiang Mai.

Chiang Mai Bus Terminal 1 is สถานีขนส่งผู้โดยสารจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ แห่งที่ 1. OTP says it serves routes within Chiang Mai province. It is at Chang Phueak.

Chiang Mai Bus Terminal 2 is สถานีขนส่งผู้โดยสารจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ แห่งที่ 2. Current Chiang Mai public sources also use อาเขต, or Arcade, for Terminal 2.

Chiang Mai Bus Terminal 3 is

Routes and the surrounding city

OTP says Terminals 2 and 3 are both interprovincial terminals. They sit close together in Wat Ket subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Mai district. Public material also refers to the pair as the Arcade terminals. The source set does not justify collapsing the numbered identities into one terminal.

OTP records an important historical change. The interprovincial terminal function moved from Terminal 1 at Chang Phueak to the Wat Ket area in 1980. This should not be rewritten as “Terminal 3 opened in 1980.” The source describes the relocation of the interprovincial terminal function, not the opening date of every later numbered building.

The Wat Ket setting also gives useful transport context. OTP places Chiang Mai railway station on Charoen Mueang Road in Wat Ket. It also describes red songthaew activity around key city locations, including Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Current Chiang Mai public bodies are developing local bus links around Terminal 2. Those facts show that the Arcade complex is part of a wider city transport network, not an isolated long-distance terminal.

Use the slug for a clearly named Chiang Mai Arcade Bus Terminals 2 and 3 complex page. The prose must say from the start that it covers two adjacent interprovincial terminals. - Split the content into exact pages for Chiang Mai Bus Terminal 2 and Chiang Mai Bus Terminal 3. Keep Terminal 1 as a separate Chang Phueak page if it is added later.
