Bangkok’s Southern Bus Terminal is a road gateway for western and southern routes. These include travel toward Kanchanaburi and longer trips down the peninsula.
The station
BKS's English business-scope page uses Southern Bus Terminal (Borommaratchachonnani Road). Its current Thai material uses สถานีขนส่งผู้โดยสารกรุงเทพ (ถนนบรมราชชนนี) and the common name สายใต้ใหม่, or Sai Tai Mai. The site's title “Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal” is so a reasonable English label as long as Borommaratchachonnani Road and Sai Tai Mai are included as identity cues.
Bangkok public material places the terminal in Taling Chan district. The road itself is Borommaratchachonnani Road, which is the most stable location cue in BKS naming.
Routes and the surrounding city
A November 2025 BKS report gives a clear and current regional description. It calls the site Bangkok Bus Terminal (Borommaratchachonnani Road), or Sai Tai Mai, and describes it as a connection between Bangkok and the metropolitan area and western and southern Thailand. That is the strongest durable summary of the terminal's road-network role.
No concise operator or public-source history was strong enough in this pass to justify a historical paragraph. No architectural claim is needed.
