Mo Chit 2 is a major Bangkok bus terminal for northern and northeastern travel. It serves many long-distance trips toward the north and Isaan.
The station
The strongest formal English name is Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak). The accepted common name is Mo Chit 2 or Mochit 2. BKS itself uses both forms. In Thai, BKS history material uses สถานีขนส่งผู้โดยสารกรุงเทพฯ (จตุจักร) and identifies it as หมอชิต 2. BKS's current map also uses the shorter สถานีขนส่งผู้โดยสารกรุงเทพ หมอชิต.
The terminal is at 999 Kamphaeng Phet 2 Road, Chatuchak subdistrict, Chatuchak district, Bangkok. This exact address is stated by BKS. The site's long-distance role grew from the older Mo Chit terminal, which BKS describes as the Northern and Northeastern Bus Terminal.
BKS records the foundation stone for the old northern and northeastern terminal at the Mo Chit market area on Phahonyothin Road in 1967. It opened the present Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak), or Mo Chit 2, in 1997. BKS describes the current building as four storeys with about 27,000 square metres of usable space.
Routes and the surrounding city
The terminal sits in the wider Chatuchak transport district rather than at BTS Mo Chit itself. The most useful nearby rail context comes from public rail sources. BEM's page for MRT Kamphaeng Phet identifies an exit for Bangkok Bus Terminal and another for Or Tor Kor Market. The SRT Red Line's Chatuchak station page also describes links toward the BKS terminal and the wider Chatuchak transport area.
The old Mo Chit terminal was explicitly the northern and northeastern terminal. The present Chatuchak terminal inherited that role and today supports a broader set of BKS and joint-service intercity operations. The safest static wording is that Mo Chit 2 is Bangkok's major intercity terminal for northern and northeastern travel, while avoiding a permanent destination list.
